James Halsey, who studied at the Royal College of Music with Eileen Croxford, combines his busy chamber music career with regular solo appearances and teaching. He has been teaching cello and chamber music at the Royal College of Music Junior Department since 1986, and his ex-pupils from RCM-JD include cellists in all areas of the profession, and students at all the major UK conservatoires.

Marie Lloyd has been a member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe since 2001. With the COE, she has worked prolifically with such musicians as Bernard Haitink, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Sir András Schiff, Mitsuko Uchida and Yannick Nézet-Séguin. Also as a member of the Wind Soloists she took part in the Centenary celebration concert at the Wigmore Hall.

Steve Bingham studied violin with Emmanuel Hurwitz, Sidney Griller and the Amadeus Quartet at the Royal Academy of Music from 1981 to 1985, where he won prizes for orchestral leading and string quartet playing. In 1985 he formed the Bingham String Quartet, an ensemble which has become one of the foremost in the UK, with an enviable reputation for both classical and contemporary repertoire. Steve is the violinist featured in the CD recordings of 45 of the new ABRSM string syllabus violin pieces.

Jonathan Higgins studied at the Royal College of Music in London and at Cambridge University where he took a degree in Music. In 1984 he made his debut at the BBC Promenade concerts playing Bartok’s Sonata for 2 pianos and percussion at the Royal Albert Hall, and returned to the Proms three years later to play Stravinsky’s Les Noces. He has made numerous recordings for BBC Radio 3 and broadcast on Danish and Swiss radio.

After graduating from Bristol University, Simon spent a year at Oxford University, concurrently becoming one of the founder members of the European Baroque Orchestra, of which he was made the first ever leader. He subsequently toured and recorded with most of the UK’s leading period instrument ensembles and held principal posts with The Academy of Ancient Music and the Brandenburg Consort. From 1997 to 2004 he was concertmaster of The King's Consort, a role he combined with regular guest leading, directing, teaching and running his own ensemble Réjouissance.

Chris Brannick has been in demand as a solo and chamber percussionist for over 30 years. He was principal percussion for Glyndebourne Touring Opera between 1990 and 2015 before leaving to concentrate on chamber music.
