Vera Pereira
Vera Pereira, MA, DipRam, LRAM, ARAM Originally from Portugal, Vera Pereira is very passionate about ballet music and she is very fortunate to be Principal Bass at the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, orchestra of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. As a professional Orchestra player she has performed and recorded with several world renowned Orchestras such as English National Opera, BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of London, Phillarmonia Orchestra, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Orquestra Sinfónica Portuguesa, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa and as a guest Principal at Welsh National Opera, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Northern Sinfonia, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and European Union Youth Orchestra. Vera is a dedicated educator, teaching at the Junior Royal College of Music and as a coach at National Youth Orchestra. She has also been invited to take masterclasses at several prestigious institutions in the UK and Portugal. Recently, Vera was awarded the post of Associate of the Royal Academy of Music and Artist in Association at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Vera has been working with ESTA UK (European string teachers association) as a trustee and director and has written articles for both ESTA Portugal and ESTA UK. Vera plays a Lejeune Double Bass dated 1790.
