Alison Cheng
Cheng Yi Zhen Alison is passionate about music, her talent for music showed at her early age. She started learning double bass with her daddy, Mr. Edmond Cheng, at the age of 5. Within a few years, she started taking part in music festivals both in Hong Kong and oversea such as Italy , Germany , Russia and France, and got many prizes throughout these years and she is a double bass player in True Colors Symphony(TCS)of Hong Kong.
Alison has won the 3rd place of Bass Lucca 2018 International Double Bass Competition age under 12 group in Italy,3rd place of 70th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival double bass solo junior group in 2018,1st place of 71st Hong Kong Schools Music Festival double bass solo junior group in 2019, 2nd place of Biarritz international Double Bass Competition in France 2019,1st place of 73rd Hong Kong Schools Music Festival double bass solo intermediate group in 2021,2nd place of 73rd Hong Kong Schools Music Festival piano solo(Grade 5) group 2 in 2021,1st place of Online Double Bass Competition 2021 children senior group in Hong Kong, She has achieved Grade 8 Double Bass exam with distinction in 2021. 1st place of 2022 NAC International Music Festival double bass virtuoso class,2nd place in Vienna Music Examination Board International Competition 2022 Spring (HK) advanced level group,2nd place of Online Double Bass Competition 2022 youth junior group in Hong Kong,3rd place of 74th Hong Kong Schools Music Festival double bass solo senior group in 2022.
Also,She was involved in many musical and choir performance.“Oliver!” was the very first musical production that Alison participated at her age of 5. She is very fond of singing, and enjoys singing, dancing and acting on stage. After that, she also played part in the musical “Annie” and the “Sound of Music”, in which she gained very fruitful experience. She has become a member the Hong Kong Choir Of Outstanding Children for more than 5 years, and has many chances to take part in variety of performances that have developed her good singing skills and musicianship.
Nevertheless, Alison is also keen to play piano. Within 3 years, she achieved Grade 5 distinction and participated in several music festival and competition with good results and prizes.
